The 2010 cookie theme is - your dedication to our program, mission and girls. The Girl Scout Cookie® Program is more than an opportunity for Girl Scout to have fun, earn proceeds for her troop and recognition items for herself; it is an experience for her to explore who she is and who she wants to be. Even more amazing – it gives you a front row seat in the discovery.

Use this program as an opportunity to be involved in your daughter’s life – spend time with her as she meets new people, walk with her as she participates in her planned Girl Scout Walkabout activities selling door-to-door, assist her in making presentations about her goals to friends and family, create posters with her for a cookie booth – watch her grow and discover the best in herself!

How can you support your Girl Scout?

Parent Check-list

December – January

  • Attend your troop meeting to obtain all of the necessary information regarding the Girl Scout Cookie Program – ask questions! Check out the remaining program calendar dates.

  • Ensure your daughter is a registered member of Girl Scouts. Only registered Girl Scouts may participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program and sell cookies.

  • Sign a parent permission form authorizing participation in the program and accepting financial responsibility for cookies sold by your daughter.

  • Practice good selling techniques and rehearse what to say to customers. Girls should review and honor program dates, be familiar with cookie assortment and price and practice safety. Help your daughter or other girls complete the cookie order form with all of the needed information.

February

  • Volunteer with the troop to organize cookie orders and assist with cookie delivery day. Help your daughter and other girls deliver their cookies in a timely manner.

March

  • Volunteer to assist at a Girl Scout Cookie Booth to assist her and the troop in meeting their goals. Make sure all cookie money is collected and turned in by the designated troop deadline.

Cookie Tip: Help your daughter develop a customer list including family, friends, neighbors, your co-workers and others to use as a reference from year to year.

Remember, selling Girl Scout Cookies is a unique and valuable way for girls to:

  • learn the power of goal-setting
  • develop self-confidence
  • learn early business skills
